How does max total loss work on Standard accounts?
Max total loss is the maximum amount your account equity can lose before the account violates the rule.
For Standard accounts, the limits are:
| Account type | Max total loss |
|---|---|
| Instant Funded Standard | 5% |
| Standard 1-Step | 6% |
| Standard 2-Step | 8% |
Example
On a $100,000 Standard 2-Step account, the max total loss is 8% of the initial balance.
$100,000 x 8% = $8,000
This means account equity, including unrealized or floating positions, must not hit or fall below $92,000.
